This schematic is for the MXR Distortion + Pedal. This is a simple circuit originally designed in the early 1970’s. If you have some electronics skill and the ability to read electronics schematics, you can mod, fix and build your own versions of this pedal. Try replacing the diodes for a more fuzzy sound or a more crunchy sound. You can also introduce true bypass switching which will cut down on the noise produced by this pedal. If you have modded this circuit or built your own distortion pedal based on this design, we’d love to see and hear it so leave us a comment!
This schematic was taken from the great people over at The Free Information Society here: MXR Distortion Schematic.
